Momasort is a digital family recipe book. This policy explains in plain language what information is collected when using the app, why, and what rights you have regarding it. Using the app constitutes agreement to this policy.
The service is operated by SB Studio. Contact details are at the bottom of the page.
Registration details: name, username, password (stored encrypted, in line with standard security protocols), email address (for password recovery and verification only).
Content you upload: recipes (title, ingredients, preparation instructions), recipe photos, voice recordings, shopping lists, comments, and a profile picture if you choose to upload one.
Family structure: the names of family members that you enter yourself (including minors, where relevant - e.g. "son"/"daughter" in relation to the family), in order to display the family tree and attribute recipes to whoever added them. A family account is managed by an adult with a username and password; minors do not register independently.
Technical information: an IP address is used for two separate purposes. (1) Protection against break-in/password-guessing attempts (rate limiting) - stored temporarily and automatically deleted after a day. (2) General visitor counting for the site (how many people visited, including guests who didn't register) - for this purpose a one-way hash of the IP address is stored together with the browser type, not the original address itself, and is automatically deleted after a year with no further visit.
Cookies: a "remember me" cookie (if you choose that option when logging in) and a session-management cookie (only on the internal admin screen). These are technical cookies necessary purely for operating the service - the app has no advertising cookies or third-party tracking/analytics tools (like Google Analytics). The visitor count described above is internal only, not cookie-based, and is not used for advertising or shared with any external party.
The information is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not transferred to third parties for marketing purposes.
Photos, recordings, and text that you send for automatic recognition (the smart tools) are sent to a third-party artificial intelligence provider - currently Google (Gemini services) - for processing. This happens only when you choose to use a smart tool, not on an ongoing basis. Hosting and running the app itself is done through Hostinger (our hosting company), including sending system emails (verification/password recovery).
The artificial intelligence provider operates according to its own terms of use and privacy policy, and in accordance with them may retain the content for a limited period, review it for security and abuse-prevention purposes, and in some services and configurations also use it to improve its services. We do not sell your content and do not transfer it to any party for marketing purposes.
Using the smart tools is entirely your choice, and the app works fully without them too: you can type a recipe in manually, save a photo as a photo only, or use the automatic text splitter that runs on your device and is never sent to any server. Content that you did not run a smart tool on is not sent to the artificial intelligence provider.
A recipe you explicitly shared with another user (via the app's sharing feature) will be visible only to that user, according to your choice. A public share link (if you created one for a specific recipe) is visible to anyone holding the link.
Information may be disclosed if required by law (for example, an order from a competent authority).
Information is retained for as long as the account is active. You can take a copy of your recipes out at any time via the "cookbook" in your personal profile in the app.
Self-service deletion inside the app: in the app ← personal area ← "Delete my account". This immediately deletes your personal profile (including profile picture), and if you are the only member of the family - all family data (recipes, photos, shopping list, comments) permanently. If there are other family members on the account, the recipes you added may remain with them (there's an option to choose to delete those too).
Requesting deletion without logging into the app: you can also ask us to delete the account and information without logging into the app - click here to open WhatsApp with a ready-made deletion request. The request is usually handled within a few business days.
Access to the app is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored with one-way encryption (not in plain text), and there are limits on failed login attempts to make password guessing harder. That said, no system can guarantee 100% absolute security - if a significant security incident is discovered that may affect you, we will notify you as required by law.
Under privacy protection law, you have the right to review the information stored about you, request that it be corrected if inaccurate, and request its deletion (subject to legal limitations). You can also file a complaint with the Privacy Protection Authority if you believe your information is not being handled properly.
The app is intended for family use managed by an adult. Details about minor family members (e.g. a first name in the family tree) are entered by the parent/guardian as part of managing the family within the app, and are not collected directly from the minor.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the update date at the top of the page.
Questions about privacy, including requests to review/correct/delete information: you can reach us via WhatsApp, the same channel used for general support in the app, or by email at support@momasort.com.
