Welcome to Momasort. Using the app constitutes agreement to the following terms. If you do not agree to any of these terms, please refrain from using the service.
The service is operated by SB Studio ("we" / "Momasort"). Contact details are at the bottom of the page.
A digital family recipe book: saving, organizing and sharing recipes between family members, with optional smart tools (recipe recognition from a photo, a recording, or a WhatsApp message) based on a third-party artificial intelligence provider.
Creating a new family generates a unique "family code" - this is effectively the primary means of identification for joining your family. Keep the family code confidential and share it only with people you want to join you - anyone holding the code can join the family. You are responsible for keeping your login details (username, password, and family code) confidential.
The recipes, photos and recordings you upload remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them - our use of them is limited to operating the service itself (saving, displaying, sharing according to your choices). You can take a copy of your recipes out at any time via the "cookbook" in your personal profile - a file to read, print or keep for yourself.
You are responsible for ensuring that the content you upload does not infringe a third party's rights (for example, copyright on a recipe that isn't yours).
The smart tools (recipe recognition from photo/recording/text) may make mistakes - miss an ingredient, misread handwriting, or return an inaccurate result. You are invited and asked to review and edit any result before saving it, especially if sensitive information is involved (e.g. allergens).
How content is processed: when you choose to use a smart tool, the relevant content (photo, recording or text) is sent to a third-party artificial intelligence provider for processing. The provider operates according to its own terms of use and privacy policy, and in accordance with them may retain the content for a limited period, review it for security and abuse-prevention purposes, and in some services and configurations also use it to improve its services. On our part, we do not sell your content and do not transfer it to any party for marketing purposes.
Using the smart tools is entirely your choice. You can use the app fully without them too - type recipes in manually, upload a photo as a photo only, or use the automatic text splitter that runs on your device and is never sent anywhere. If there's content you'd rather not have processed by a third-party provider - simply don't run a smart tool on it.
There is a full free plan, subscription plans (monthly and yearly) that unlock unlimited recipe storage, and a one-time plan (single payment) that unlocks unlimited recipe storage as well. Every paid plan also unlocks extended use of the smart tools. The prices and exact contents of each plan are shown in the app on the "My Plan" screen. Payment is currently coordinated manually (not automatic billing via credit card) - meaning there is no recurring charge that happens on its own without an action from you.
What applies to the whole family and what is personal: a purchase by one family member unlocks the family cookbook capabilities for every member of that family, at no additional cost: the recipe storage allowance, the app colour choice, the sharing-recipient allowance and shared books.
By contrast, the smart tools (AI) allowance is personal and belongs to whoever purchased it. Each person chooses for themselves, on the "My plan" screen, whether to share their allowance with the rest of the family or keep it to themselves - and the choice can be changed at any time. Someone who chooses not to share can still use the allowance of another family member who did choose to share. When several family members share, the allowances add up.
In addition, every family member gets one free use of each smart tool (photo scan, voice transcription, and AI recipe generation), independently of the rest of the family.
On the free plan, a family cookbook can hold up to 150 active recipes. On every paid plan - monthly, yearly and the one-time plan - storage is unlimited. A recipe that has been deleted and is sitting in the trash does not count toward the limit.
The limit restricts adding only - never viewing, accessing or deleting existing content. If your recipe count exceeds the free limit (for example when a paid subscription ends), every recipe you have already saved stays exactly where it is: you can continue to view, edit, search, share and turn them into a cookbook, just as before. The only thing blocked is adding new recipes, until you upgrade or free up room by deleting existing ones. We do not delete or hide recipes because a plan changed or ended.
For anyone who purchased a paid plan: under consumer protection law, you have the right to cancel the transaction within 14 days of the purchase date and receive a full refund (for an ongoing-service plan that has already started, the refund will be proportional to the remaining period). To cancel - contact us via the contact details at the bottom of the page.
In addition, the "My Plan" screen has a "Cancel subscription" button for monthly/yearly plans - it doesn't cancel immediately, but marks the plan as not-to-renew: the subscription remains active until the end of the paid period, and then automatically drops to the free plan, with no additional charge.
We make a reasonable effort to maintain an available and reliable service, but the service is provided "AS IS", without a commitment to continuous, uninterrupted availability. Some smart tools depend on a third-party artificial intelligence provider's services, which may occasionally be partially available or limited - in such a case we will show an appropriate message and recommend trying again later.
Subject to any mandatory legal provision that cannot be contracted out of, our liability toward you is limited to direct damages only, and does not extend to indirect or consequential damages.
You can stop using the service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or close an account that violates these terms, after reasonable notice where possible.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the update date at the top of the page. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes agreement to the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and exclusive jurisdiction is given to the competent courts in Israel.
